The Southern Continent is a flourishing land of dangers, exiles, escapees, and second chances.

The Ports are ruled by the Pirate Lord Drake, latest in a line of men and women fierce and ruthless enough to control the South's more vicious tempers. Around the Ports live holders and crafters, escaped from the Northern continent; within the Ports, the mysterious Sirens gather information and punish those whose wrongdoing cannot be prosecuted openly.

Nearby, the recently established Cascade Hold begins to prosper, and the just-as-new Cascade Weyr both faces and creates new questions in the form of the first mutated dragon colors, and a blueriding Weyrleader.

And though no one is paying attention, once again the Red Star gleams on the horizon.

The next few years are not going to be easy for anyone--but they'll make a great story.

Cascade Weyr is an AU Pern. There was no F'lar, no Lessa, and therefore no Long Intervals, but there were Dustfalls: passes during which Thread turned to dust in the atmosphere, and drifted harmlessly down to fertilize the land. Dragons and their riders lost their status, and holds began campaigns of militaristic expansion which continue to this day. The world is dark, grim, and miserable for most people. But in the South, exiles and escapees band together to create better lives, and slowly their numbers are growing.

We Offer

New Character Types:
-Pirates: the major force in the Southern Ports
-Sirens: women trained as spies and assassins, enforcing justice in the Ports
-Agents: each hold's military elite, with specialties ranging from torture to winter survival
-and of course, all the old: dragonriders, wherhandlers, crafters and holders

Several Upcoming and Ongoing Plots:
-the first mutant dragon colors have just hatched in Cascade Weyr, to a blue father and among many dud eggs
-Fort Hold, the most vicious and powerful in the North, will soon visit Cascade Hold, haven for many who have been forced to flee from Fort
-a large group of slaves recently escaped High Reaches Hold, and will soon reach the South
-slavers are trying to bring their craft to the South, and no one is quite certain who they are or how far they've gotten
